Full-Service Moving and Packing Services

Moving

Our standard moving service includes padding and protecting your furniture with moving blankets and shrink wrap, some furniture disassembly and reassembly, and transferring your hanging clothes into wardrobe boxes and into your new closets. Artwork and mirrors can be secured in one or two of our large flat mirror packs, or carefully placed between the unused cardboard boxes that are firmly strapped to the side within every truck, on top of a padded blanket. Every mattress is protected inside a mattress bag before we load it onto our clean truck. We’re happy to pack up lamp shades, awkward miscellaneous objects, or a few things that you didn’t have time to pack before the move.

Every moving truck comes equipped with a ramp as well as a lift gate to ensure every piece gets onto the truck seamlessly, where it is secured to the side within the truck to prevent any sliding or tumbling in transit.

Our movers have experience with spiral and winding staircases; narrow doorways; off-camber, tilted, or bumpy pathways; and other logistical challenges common in the Bay Area. We hand-carry all of your items within the building to protect them as well as floors and stairs. We pay close attention to the corners of each piece on top, bottom, and all sides to keep safe clearance from walls, ceilings, and light fixtures, etc.

Each job starts with a walkthrough with you and the crew boss to get us oriented with your belongings and layout of the move, so we can get the job done as efficiently as possible, and to make sure that everything ends up in the right place. Before we leave, we do another walkthrough with you to make sure we’ve completed the work to your satisfaction. When the move is complete and before we leave, we sweep out our truck to ensure nothing is left behind, and load used shrink wrap, tape, and other supplies onto our truck so your home or office ─ and the street ─ are clean and ready for you to unpack and settle in.

Packing

If you prefer a full-service experience, we can arrive with all of the supplies including plenty of boxes, packing paper, and tape to lovingly and carefully box up and label every item in your home or office so that it arrives safely and to the right location.

We also offer a “partial pack” for those who want a little extra support on move day. Many customers opt to have us pack a few remaining items, or, with a day’s notice, a room or two, such as the kitchen. Rest assured we protect your fragile items carefully, and clearly label each box.

Local Moves

We move people between and within every neighborhood around the Bay Area, from San Francisco to Antioch, from Petaluma to Livermore, and every location in between, such as Berkeley, Lafayette, Oakland, San Rafael, Walnut Creek, and more, and frequently do moves over 50 miles to places like San Jose, Sacramento, and Santa Rosa. Our trucks are built for driving, and parking on, neighborhood streets, whether you live in a dense urban center or a hilly retreat with winding roads.

Apartment Moving

Moving to a new apartment should be exciting, not stressful. We take utmost care of your belongings while respecting building rules about use of elevators, loading docks, hallways, and other common areas, and we’re always happy to provide proof of insurance. We’re also well-versed in moving in or out of third floor walk-ups, in-laws, basement units, apartments with back door and side entrances, etc.

Home Moving

Whether it’s a small one-bedroom cottage or a three-story mansion, Lulu’s has the skills to provide you with friendly, responsible, and efficient moving service. We can accommodate all of your indoor and outdoor furniture and belongings on one of our box vans or outdoor trucks.

In-House Moving

When you need to renovate, remodel, or repair a room or part of your house, we happily move belongings to your spare room, storage area, or another part of your house while the work is completed. When you’re ready to move back, we’re sure to take good care of the upgraded surfaces in the renovated areas.

Senior Moving

Transitioning to combine households with an adult child, or going into a retirement community, assisted living, nursing care, or whatever new adventure you’ve chosen on is a big step. We have lots of experience helping seniors who often need to downsize from a home they’ve lived in for decades, with all the accumulation that entails, and are happy to interface with organizers, family members, etc. We offer full-service, respectful, efficient, and patient packing, moving, and junk removal services for seniors who are ready to relocate. Commercial Moving

Lulu’s Moving Services is happy to fulfill your weekend office move, including packing service. We have the crews and equipment to provide exceptional service and keep your office organized for seamless resumption of business at your new location.

Long-Distance Moving

For moves over 100 miles, we charge by the weight of truck (full weight minus empty weight) according to the distance. The charge includes all the standard moving services, including placing your belongings in the desired locations in your new home, and some furniture assembly.

Lulu’s Moving Services provides door-to-door delivery between the Bay Area and communities in the western United States, including Los Angeles; Palm Springs; Portland, Oregon; and Reno and Las Vegas, Nevada; usually with overnight delivery. We offer a dedicated truck and crew that’s consistent from the beginning of the load to the end of the unload, which means no chain-of-custody disputes over who is responsible for lost or damaged items. At large corporate moving companies, multiple sub-contractors handle your prized possessions between the origin and destination addresses, and, if something goes wrong, they often resort to finger-pointing that leaves you without a clear recourse. As your sole moving provider at Lulu’s Moving Service, we take full responsibility for delivering all of your belongings safely.
