A good mover can find angles and rotations that you might not imagine to get a big piece through a narrow doorway or around a tight corner, but every once in a while, it just won’t fit. This couch came in through the neighbor’s apartment, but that route wasn’t available on move-out day. So we wrapped it for storage, strapped it up, protected the railing, and lowered it over the balcony. When you’re doing an unusual maneuver, communication, preparation, respect, and trust bring success. We love our team, and so did our customers!

Lulu’s Moving Services is a genuinely family-owned and organically-grown company. We know that a successful job is not just about logistical know-how; it also relies on positive relationships within the crew, and with you, our customer.  We’re a full-service local and long-distance moving company with some of the best equipment in the industry, and we believe in clear, honest, and supportive communication and collaboration.

We’re owners Dennis Jenkins and Emily Thurston, and we started our business in 2005 doing auction house deliveries and student moves. We got busy fast through word-of-mouth and good reviews, with no damages. As a vehicle and equipment enthusiast, Dennis reinvested every spare dollar into new and better trucks, liftgates, straps, moving blankets, boxes, tools, door jamb protectors, tools, and more to make every job go as smoothly as possible.

 By 2015 we had 18 movers and 6-8 trucks going out every day, delivering exceptional and friendly service to over 150 customers a month, while providing solid wages and a respectful workplace to our employees. We incorporated as Lulu’s Hauling, Inc., in 2018, doing business as Lulu’s Moving Services and as Junk Zappers. In 2019 we incorporated in Oregon and Washington, with local moves in the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA areas, as well as throughout the Bay Area, and started regularly doing moves between all three states. We recently upgraded all of our trucks to the latest CARB-compliant 2024 and 2026 models to better serve you and the environment.

Emily dedicates herself to licensure, finance, and customer relations, while Dennis excels as operations manager with the same day-to-day level of service we’ve always provided. We’re here to give our full attention and dedication to our happy customers and our workers, with the same exacting attention to our teams and quality of service we’ve maintained since our humble beginnings.
